St. David’s Episcopal Church
“Parable of the Talents” Food Drive
Since 2003, The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) has been used as a method for food drives to support St.Clare's Food Pantry. Once a year $10 or $20 bills are handed out to those attending services with the mission to take your talents and see what you can bring back for St. Clare's. Some parishoners use their talents to bake pies and sell them, others buy material to make items that they then raffle, others watch for sales and do some shrewd buying. On the day of ingathering no one can hide in the back pews. Everyone has to sit up front because the back pews can be filled up with over 3000 pounds of food and paper products for St. Clare's Food Pantry.
Besides our annual food drive, we collect throughout the year and members of St. David's help out in the food pantry on Wednesdays.

Heifer Project
|
| |
One Sunday of each month St. David's Episcopal Church gets trashy as aluminum cans, newspaper and corrugated cardboard are brought in for recycling. The money received from the recycling center is used to purchase gifts from Heifer International. So far St. David's has purchased:
|
Llama |
Goat |
Heifer |
Water Buffalo |
Milk Menagerie |
Right now we're collecting for a flock of sheep.
